The Cat Ba Archipelago, part of the city of Hai Phong, is renowned for its pristine natural beauty and rich biodiversity. Comprising 388 islands of various sizes, the area boasts unique landscapes featuring overlapping limestone cliffs, magnificent caves, and numerous white sandy beaches. Cat Ba National Park, designated as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2004, is a sanctuary for many rare species of flora and fauna, including the endemic Cat Ba monkey. In 2023, the Cat Ba Archipelago, along with Ha Long Bay, was recognized as a World Natural Heritage site by UNESCO, affirming the region’s global significance.
